Enable notifications on lock screen?

I have a Huawei P10 lite and I have a problem. And although I get on my lock screen no App notifications so I do not see if I got a WhatsApp message. Does anyone know how I can activate this? Have seen other posts to it but I could not find these things in my settings, not even in the design app.
