I have a subtle problem. I got a new cell phone about 2 weeks ago (Redes Note 8 Pro). Before that, I had the Huawei p8 lite 2017.
Since I got the new cell phone, everything has been charging at least twice as long as my old cell phone. Other household devices have no problems with the WLAN. When I sit directly at the router (as I do now), everything loads for such an incredibly long time. In the past, I could even make video calls with a bar or little reception. This is no longer possible at all.
I don't know what to do. We have a FritzBox and I just did an Internet speed test (see picture). Can I do something with the FritzBox or is it due to my cell phone? >. <
Yes, that's the way it is with me, apparently quite normal. It's a bit of a shame, but it does happen.
So you have this problem right now? It may be because there are so many online at the moment
For me too, because of the corona crisis, more people use the internet more home office.
I have 3 suggestions that could help:
### Suggestion 1: turn off Bluetooth
Turn off Bluetooth on your smartphone and then test it.
### Suggestion 2: Change WLAN encryption WPA2 to WPA / WPA2
Call the configuration page of the FritzBox with a browser (page and access data are on the back of the FritzBox). Log in and at
WLAN / security change the WPA mode from WPA2 to WPA / WPA2. Now try if it is better.
### Proposal 3: With dual-band WLAN, name the SSIDs differently
Call the configuration page of the FritzBox with a browser (page and access data are on the back of the FritzBox). Log in and at
WLAN / radio network name the radio network name (s) (= SSIDs) differently for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Suggestion: Leave the name (SSID) for 2.4 GHz as it is, and for the 5 GHz SSID write a 5 at the end of the name. You can ignore a mesh warning. Here also explained on YouTube:
I think… It was the Bluetooth… I switched it off and everything is working so well again, thank you! I have a fitness stacker, so I have it on all the time
Thanks for the feedback! So Bluetooth was the culprit!
This will help many users who also struggle with a disturbed 2.4 GHz WLAN. Bluetooth unfortunately always runs at 2.4 GHz and may inevitably interfere with the 2.4 GHz WLAN.
One tip:
To use Bluetooth and WLAN without interference, you can switch to 5 GHz WLAN (ac) in the WLAN router. Then it doesn't interfere with each other. With dual-band Wi-Fi routers (with 2.4 + 5 GHz at the same time) you can assign different Wi-Fi names (SSIDs) for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and connect to the appropriate 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Is that also possible with a FritzBox? 😅I don't know me so well from technology
Oh wow ok sorry, I missed the video
