I'm fairly new to Pokemon Go.
I've had the mission for a long time now that I would have to catch a ditto - I know which Pokemon can turn into a Ditto, but after an estimated 500 Pokémon I somehow lose faith in it…
Are there any factors that are critical to the catch?
Eg weather, region, time?
I just always read that you should use fake GPS, so it would be super easy - only I use a Huawei p30 pro and that should not be possible with this device - even if it should be possible, fake GPS would not kill me either to catch a ditto, right? : /
I would also miss the Hoenn Gold Medal, does anyone have a list of the areas in which the Pokemons are particularly located? So that I can search for the Pokemons more effectively? Google was unfortunately not my friend until now: /
There are certain Pokémon that can be a ditto. But that's a coincidence. If it is a ditto for one player, it is also for everyone else. Connect with other trainers in groups and ask them to let you know when they find a ditto. If you are lucky enough to tell yourself where it is, it will still be there when you arrive. Otherwise, do not pay much attention to the mission and just have fun playing. At some point a ditto comes.
I would not recommend cheating with FakeGPS. Risking an account lock would be more than stupid.

This is the only way that standard Pokémon can turn into a ditto. E.g. Taubsi, Zubat, Habitak etc.
