I have a question about my smartphone. Unfortunately, the charging socket on my Huawei P30 no longer works properly. At first it was so that the charging cable was a bit loose and came out of the charging port every now and then. But tonight I suddenly woke up and found that my cell phone was no longer charging. I tried around for a long time and also used a different cable, but my cell phone did not charge.
When it finally charged, it started with 0% battery, which is unusual because my mobile phone usually switches off at 2% battery. In addition, my phone charges extremely slowly, it has now taken almost 15 minutes to get to 4%.
I wonder what I can do now. I saw that I can fix my charging socket in my city for 90 euro. Is it still worth it? I also found kits for self-repairing. Would a layman like me be able to do this? I would go to the Repaircafé, but unfortunately that doesn't work during Corona.
Are there maybe things I should do to make sure that it really is the charging port and that there's no software error, e.g. Is it?
I thank you for all the answers
Better have it repaired, because it's not that simple, you should be familiar with that.
Have you ever tried to clean the charging socket? Because often a dirty charging socket is simply to blame if it no longer charges properly.
I already had it with 3 different devices.
What should I best use there? Such a compressed air spray from the hardware store?
Of course not. You won't get it clean with that.
Take a toothpick.
Okay, thanks 👍
First try cleaning
With blows, cotton swabs and everything like that, if not for repairs or if you have a mobile phone warranty to the seller
And isopropanol.
If that doesn't work, just buy a new circuit board with a socket on eBay, which you can then simply replace… When you have your cell phone open.
Circuit board with socket and accessories to open the mobile phone for 6.30 euro including shipping:

If you can solder something, a suitable USB socket is sufficient.
