I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro since March. Due to the crisis I started to be more interested in updates and security patches. I bought the smartphone at Amazon. Today, however, I noticed that the last security patch came in November 2018, which should not be. A relative has the same model and regularly receives these updates. In addition, the EMUI 9.1 version is already officially available in the HiCare App, which I did not get. Although the manufacturer is not in the duty of software updates, but the agreement is that the security patches in the newer models are mandatory and one, if they are not guaranteed, can make use of the 2-year warranty. I have been at Huawei Support four times a week, and have always been guaranteed a manual update (security and version) in the next 48 hours. Now I'm still waiting.
How or on which platform can I make use of my guarantee without paying additional costs. A detailed text about possibilities and update would be great.
Then you should check for updates / report to Huawei.
The last update is from mid-May,
How did you get any HiCare?
Was this not preinstalled?
Otherwise simply load from the Playstore and sign up.
Send an update request and be patient.
Updates to custom ROMs are no longer possible since a Huawei unlock the boot loader. Have to wait for Huawei. But where is this please a warranty case?
My M5 tablet got the security patch from the beginning of June towards the end of June (https://consumer.huawei.com/de/support/bulletin/2019/6/)
