SanDisk memory card not supported - what happens to the data?

I have a huawei mate 20 lite and have been using a SanDisk memory card for some time (I formatted it at the beginning) - I was able to use this memory card wonderfully! Now and then the error message "SD card removed unexpectedly" was displayed, which could be remedied by restarting the device.

Yesterday I got the message for the first time: "SanDisk memory card not supported". The images (which are saved on the card) are no longer displayed in the gallery. When I go to the message, the option "delete and format" comes with the additional information that the data is then logically gone and that I should back it up beforehand.

Now my problem: the card is displayed via "Settings" -> "Storage", but not the data it contains. There's the option "Load" - I guess "Load the data"? -> selected, a loading icon appears for minutes -> but nothing happens. So I don't know how to safely "eject" the card because I can't find this option or it doesn't seem to be available. How do I proceed to secure my data? Can I simply remove the card when the phone is switched off if the data is no longer displayed to me anyway?

I'm sorry for that LONG question! ^^ I'm very grateful for your help!

Shut down your cell phone… Maybe

remove card, get adapter for pc, end.

Nothing happens to the data, either the memory is gone and they are gone or everything works.

Br

Even if it says "if removed improperly, data may be lost"? It would be improper to take it out without ejecting it, right?

Je

If you no longer recognize the card under restart (!) Try this via a

Usb reader to read out on the PC.

Unfortunately there are a lot of plagiarism in circulation and also many fake cards where the "software" inflates the card from 128GB to 256GB as an example, which is not technically possible.

Always buy original goods from a reputable dealer. When the goods are too cheap, there's often something wrong.

A USB reader is basically the same as if the laptop has an SD card slot?

If your cell phone went down, how should the card have power? It's all about an uncontrolled voltage curve, which is never good for technical equipment, regardless of whether it is a data storage device or something else.

Br

Sounds logical!

Sm

If you want to be absolutely sure, remove the battery beforehand.

Br

An adapter was included for the microSD so that it could be plugged into a PC

Br

Unfortunately, this does not work with this device: 0 it is permanently integrated

Sm

Then just switch off is enough. There must be no direct access to the storage medium then there are no problems.

Br

So in the sense of "is currently in use" while the device is on. Is it basically like removing a USB stick when the PC is off, right? I'm sorry, I'm confused when it comes to images, data, etc. That are at stake. I have to be sure that I understood everything ^^

Sm

Yes, that's right, just like when a PC is off, whether you can still get the pictures is due to the functionality of the card, if it is defective, you are unlucky, so always make two backups. Incidentally, a large external hddd hard drive is recommended for this purpose;
