How to install apps on Android 7 on the memory card and not in the device memory?

I remember a very old version of Android, where it was possible to install some apps not in the device memory but on the SD card. This should then be saved in the device memory space and usually the SD cards were anyway larger than the permanently installed memory.

Now my HUAWEI P9 lite has been complaining for some time that there's no more space available and I should release it. As alternatives, I get offered to delete little or unused apps. Photos, MP3, Videos ect. Have I already stored anyway on the memory card.

The device memory is bar with nearly 5 GB of the "firmware" and nearly 6 GB of apps occupied. Free are then still good 500MB. On the SD card but still 12 GB are available.

There's thus a considerable imbalance in the utilization of the two memories. So my idea is to balance this and to move the installed apps all or part of the device memory to the SD card.

Earlier (Android 3 or so?) That was possible… Is that still the currently running on the device version 7? How do I set this up later or do I have to reinstall everything? Is there perhaps another way to make space in the device memory? I'm open to suggestions and ideas…

There are apps for this: App2SD and the like.

Whether you can push an app on the SD card, but depends on the app itself. Often that is not possible.

In addition, you can move only the app data anyway, the installation takes place on the internal memory anyway.

As far as I know, it goes with the 'developer options' in the settings.
