Chinese company Huawei may present its Android alternative to the public later this week - the HongMeng OS operating system. This is at least from a recent report from the news portal "Global Times" from China. Accordingly, the presentation for the 9th August 2019 to be planned - so this Friday.
What do you think? Is the market ready for a new challenger, or will it go down much like Windows Phone did?
That will certainly be well received in the Chinese market. In Europe, the problem will be the PlayStore. The new operating system could no longer access it and Huawei would have to set up its own store. That will not happen so fast. Without tons of free apps like Android, nobody is interested in a new OS.
But if you get along well in China with the new BS you have time to build a store and in 1-2 years things might look different.
The market is always ready.
Huawei already has its own Appstore "AppGallery".
And with Trump and his locks, Huawei would no longer have a claim on the PlayStore because Google is an American company
Yes, but it's about the offer that exists or does not exist in the AppGallery.
Whether Trump keeps it upright is questionable. In any case, Google and so have no interest in a possible competitive product and beg Trump quasi even to Huawei not to force the timely to bring the European and American markets.
HongMen OS should not become an Android replacement, but an IoT operating system. It's less about the use in mobile phones than more in smart devices.
Then Google stops their Playstore to Europe, by letterbox companies is not an issue, especially not for such huge companies.
So WatchDogs is getting more and more realistic? Nice. We can see how the IP cameras were disassembled by Mirai.
