Parents talking about for a new cell phone?

Hey i'm w / 12 and i have a Nokia 1.5 (since last year), & no i'm not like these rich kids who cry about a Nokia.

So about the incident:

My charging cable was always loose (lying on the cell phone), so I always checked when I woke up at night to see if it was still charging.

And in one night, I went back to see if it was still charging (4 o'clock at night or so) and it just went out because it no longer had a battery, I switched it on again and put it back on the charging cable. But it was in a school week and I wouldn't have heard my alarm clock if I hadn't checked to see if it was still charging. Then I said it to my father (the next day) and he charged it and made sure the cable wasn't loose. I then asked if I needed a new cell phone and my father said I could still use it.

So this incident happened six months ago

My cell phone takes 8 hours or so to charge and I also have to make sure it charges. But what bothers me about the battery thing is that my cell phone runs out from 20%.

In any case, I want a new cell phone, the same as my brother's Huawei p20 lite (it's not expensive either, I can get it myself)

But I just have to persuade my parents, but I find it uncomfortable to tell them that I want a new cell phone.

Haha I don't know why I feel uncomfortable.

Thanks for reading & sorry for my spelling mistakes and my grammar.

Well, if you pay for it yourself, that's no problem. Your parents won't forbid you to do that.

Fa

So if you saved the money, just buy yourself. And if it doesn't work without parental consent, the Nokia can "accidentally" fall off…

I would first see if the guarantee does not apply. My daughter had a similar problem with the cell phone (similar problem, similar age of the cell phone), and Amazon recognized this as a warranty case.

The battery on your cell phone is flat, and then it runs out at 20%, which is typical for a drastic decrease in battery capacity. And the charging socket is obviously sucked out, it would have to be replaced like the battery, which is no longer economically worthwhile for the cell phone, that should also convince your parents.

I would recommend the P30 Lite because it has the opposite of the P20 Lite Android 10, the P20 Lite stays with Android 9 and does not get any more updates, the P30 Lite is also technically better

Well actually you would even have a guarantee on your scrap cell phone 😅

I think there's really nothing wrong with a new cell phone if you buy it yourself and it is not changeable you have had it for so long and even longer than it went right

St

After 6 months there's a reversal of the burden of proof, the buyer then has to prove that the defect already existed at the time of purchase.Amazon is the only one who also deals with customers in a friendly manner, if something was bought via the Amazon Marketplace, it looks different.

St

Nope, the battery is flat and Nokia only gives a 6-month manufacturer's warranty

But the most important thing is: Nokia offers a 24-month guarantee on its main devices (12 months on accessories, 6 months on cables and batteries

Fi

OK. Marketplace may be more difficult, but it's worth trying. Since Amazon is very accommodating, my daughter actually buys cell phones from Amazon.

Va

The guarantee applies to the whole cell phone, the battery is not treated separately (there's also a statutory guarantee of 2 years)

St

If it was purchased from Amazon at all, and maybe it wasn't your daughter's guarantee, but the manufacturer's guarantee that worked, but Nokia only has 6 months for the battery. Samsung, for example, gives 12 months on permanently installed batteries.

Fi

I don't really know what guarantee or warranty it was, it was / is an Honor smartphone.

St

No, a guarantee is a voluntary service of the manufacturer, who determines what he gives and for how long,

There are differences between warranty and guarantee
In the case of defective products, you have warranty rights based on legal regulations. The warranty period for newly purchased goods is 2 years. A guarantee, on the other hand, is a voluntary service - usually by the manufacturer. There are no uniform legal requirements here

Contents of a guarantee
Free or paid warranty - the exact content is based on the warranty terms. This is determined solely by the guarantor. In some cases, he links his services to certain requirements or excludes individual components. For example, you may only treat the sofa set with a certain care product or wear parts are completely excluded. Read the conditions carefully.

With the warranty, a reversal of the burden of proof occurs after 6 months, from then on the buyer must prove that the defect already existed at the time of purchase

At the end of the first six months to two years after the goods have been handed over: the buyer must prove that there was a defect from the start

However, the seller does not have to pay for the normal wear and tear of parts that are subject to wear.

A battery is subject to wear and tear, which also depends very much on its use.

Va

So the warranty would come into effect

St

Nope,

At the end of the first six months to two years after the goods have been handed over: the buyer must prove that there was a defect from the start

However, the seller does not have to pay for normal wear and tear on parts that are subject to wear

Va

Well under 2 years you can't speak of wear and tear, I would contact the dealer where you bought it, it may well be that you get any compensation

Va

In addition, nokia is no longer what it used to be. My penultimate cell phone was one and in the 3 years I had 5 times that it was broken

St

For devices where there are many complaints, Amazon is particularly accommodating, for example with the cheap Umidigi smartphone, with almost everyone there was a problem with the battery, Amazon then burned out of the battery after some started charging Took own sale and took back sold and reimbursed the purchase price. But they are still on sale through Amazon through the marketplace.

St

You do not know how often the battery has been charged, and whether it has been deeply discharged several times, which switches it off at 20%, speaks for a greatly reduced battery capacity due to heavy use and not for a material defect.

Va

In most cases, however, it will certainly be offered to accommodate Win
