I recently ordered the Fender Puresonic Wired Earbuds for DJing. They also have good ratings at Thomann. But my problem is that the songs sound kind of weird. It's hard to describe, but they sound kind of dull. At the moment I only had the opportunity to test it on my DDJ-400 and on the mobile phone (Huawei P30 Pro). They sound okay on the cell phone, but not on the controller. I suspect that it could be because it is a USB controller. I will soon be able to try it out on the Denon MCX8000. But I would like to know if there could be other causes as well.
Maybe the DDJ just has a bad headphone amplifier?!
First of all, it has to be noted that in-ears have smaller drivers than other headphones. This already limits certain properties from a purely physical point of view.
If the headphones sound good on one source and not on the other, then it's not the headphones, it's the source. Either the quality of the headphone output is less good (which I think is quite realistic on a DDJ 400) or the music file is of poor quality and already sounds bad.
