I would like to be able to edit videos on my laptop (Lenovo) or edit and put together. I have almost no experience with the subject and am a beginner.
The videos are mostly from my smartphone (Huawei P30 Pro) and it should be rather hobby.
Do you have tips for a suitable program which you may know yourself? Preferably for free, because I want to test the whole thing first.

DaVinci Resolve! Free and very good and above all intuitive!
Unfortunately, you do not post tech data to your laptop. This can be very tedious with insufficient hardware.
To get started, you can also take the Microsoft Movie Maker.
"DaVinci Resolve" is a great program and not difficult to understand (free).
You could even have a look at some YT videos.
If you have a MacBook, I would just recommend the preinstalled iMovie. There you can definitely do a lot, two image levels and a variety of sound and effects settings. Movie Maker on Windows (preinstalled editing program on Windows) is not really recommended and has little resemblance to a professional editing program. However, not bad for the beginning either. If you're willing to spend money, it's best to get an Adobe Premiere or After Effects license.
Video editing for free.
1. VideoPad.
The program runs for about 14 days as a full version and must be paid afterwards. However, to gain experience, it is very well suited. Everything a video editing program needed, you can try. Fonts can be displayed in completely different configurations. Also pictures and audios from the hard disk are insertable. The same applies to text announcements via microphone. With various effects, the whole can be given a professional look. Inserted pictures can be made more dynamic with the zoom function. So you can quickly create a slideshow in the video format of his choice. German help makes it easy to find your way around the program.
Tip: If you want to continue using the program with limited features, uninstall VideoPad. This opens a window in which you set a dot, in "Use with limited functions continue".

Although the program is a LE version, it can also meet greater demands from videographers. Many different effects are included and a large number of effects and tutorials can be downloaded for free from the web. The downside is that a DVD creation and MPEG is only possible with the full version. The finished movie can be created in Windows Media, AVI and AVC H264 format.

Wow! Thank you very much for this huge answer. I will get used to it.
Please, very much:-)
To get started, you can also take the Microsoft Movie Maker.
Is he still supported?
Once written, he can copy it well.
Is a very universal and not exactly rare question, because it offers something good.
That is irrelevant. Important is the fact that it also works perfectly on Win10.
Resolve is even really professional. The full version has only a few (for you uninteresting features). In addition, you can handle it relatively well after a 30min YT tutorial. The rest comes through learning by doing.
If the cut is a one-time thing, it may be too "good" / complicated.
But he does not, because you only got him with Win7. You can download it if only by detours and it is not properly supported by Win10 (if at all).
I agree.
I would like to cut videos on my laptop (Lenovo) or
edit and merge
Although I do not know what "edit" should be in the sense.
On Win7 it runs only limited, ie: without video stabilization.
On Win8.1 and Win10 it works perfectly.
What you call missing support, is the fact that Microsoft has discontinued the development of the MM and no longer offers for download.
You mean MM or the video editor? (I have not actually noticed the latter)
I mean the last version, Movie Maker 2012.
8 times helpful. Not everyone can do it.
I only think so. Since somebody knows each other out.
