What you "should", you have to know yourself. But you do not need to buy Huawei, because every avoidable euro to China is one too many.
Mobile phones have become uninteresting and interchangeable. There's no telling what a Huawei can do, which you can't find from other manufacturers. Especially in the price midfield.
WhatsApp is also available as .apk, the phones that are still in the market are not affected.
I would recommend that you either take a Samsung, or, if you do not necessarily want something expensive, have a look at NOKIA or something. There are also very good devices for little money.
