Huhu,
I followed a lot of people in a short time on Instagram for a while from a long time, so that I followed 3000 people and had about 3000 followers myself. Eventually, however, I did not get any notification when I got a new follower. In the settings under "push notifications" I can't select that, so the option is no longer available.
Also, the new install the app or even changing the phone brought nothing. Is that normal that the option is gone when you reach a certain number of followers or is that a kind of ban? That's been that way for a long time. I also wrote the support, but there was no answer. Do I have to worry about that now?
To illustrate, I've added a screenshot,
(I only had an A3 and now a Huawei Mate 20, if that matters)
Yours sincerely,

You have a Softban if you can no longer like / follow. If only no notification has come, it will simply be a delay or maybe just a "soft ban for notifications". Just wait 1-10 hours.
But I've been doing that for 3 months that the option is gone and I can't get any notification anymore.
Well, maybe you just exaggerated, even if I can't think of any reason for Instagram's downside if you disable your push notification. You still get the followers. Sorry, but then I have no idea.
So somewhere else, from 2000 followers, the option would simply gone and that it would not be a ban.
Joa can be too, that would be a reason.
Presumably, you will not receive any more notifications, as Instagram thinks the news just annoys you. But it is not a ban
