Huawei smart phone, mobile has deleted apps?

My mother tried to update the apps on her smartphone tonight (P8 or P9 lite, does not remember exactly) and then suddenly all the apps were gone, completely uninstalled from the phone. So funny. Now the apps can't be reinstalled, the Play Store keeps bringing only the message "Download pending", but it does not work. Can anyone help me, what could this be and what can I do to get the apps back?

So if that is really as bad as you describe, I would rewrite the phone.
