Is it possible to automatically back up data to the cloud on the Huawei P20 Pro?

I would like to buy soon the Huawei P20 Pro, unfortunately there's no possibility with the mobile phone to expand the memory by SD card. Purely from the storage space, this is not a problem for me, but I'm worried that my data (photos, etc) are lost in case the phone should break. So my question is, is there a way to secure the phone automatically on a cloud, or similar? So that I can retrieve all the data there if the phone does not work anymore?

I save / sync my data, such as contacts, pictures, etc. To Google Account.

That should be automatically possible with you under Settings / Accounts / Google (presumably) you should be able to set it.
