I have a Lenovo laptop, the charger of which is unfortunately broken. The spare part is also broken (long history).
Since there's also a USB - C port on my laptop and I once saw a charger in Saturn with the promise "Charges all USB - C capabilities devices", I asked myself whether I could just use my smartphone (Huawei) or tablet (Samsung ) Charger can connect.
Is that possible, or is my PC blowing?
(I also read something about PD in this context, where can I check whether my device supports it?)
This will not work. Laptops only give power through the USB-C socket, but do not take it in because the charging electronics are not coupled to it - this is only possible with the power socket provided.
I don't expect anything to happen. If the power supply has a charging logic, it will notice that the USB-C port does not want any electricity at all, and ergo will not send any charging current.
You already need a power supply that has the same performance data as the old one, and also the same fit and polarity on the plug.
