With my wife's Huawei smartphone, the notification tone often comes like What's ap, but there's absolutely no input.
What is the cause here? Does anyone happen to know?
In today's smartphones, there are countless incoming messages - not just WhatsApp messages. These can be messages about the system status (battery messages, update messages, Google messages, etc.). In addition, there are also system-independent messages that arrive constantly (for online and / or BT connections) (e.g. Broadcast, weather, news, fitness wristband, etc.).
Depending on which settings have been made at some point (and which have been forgotten - that is, they are not deactivated again), it depends on what is constantly "coming in".
Not everything that "rolls in" is also displayed! BUT - a beep can be activated for everything that "rolls in". If this signal tone was also assigned to WhatsApp messages that were "rolling in", this can certainly lead to confusion.
Look in the settings under "Manage apps" to see which apps have to do with "incoming" messages and try to find out where the signal tones come from. If you have no success in your installed apps, the beeps will most likely come from the system. Here you should look in the settings under "Tones and Vibrations" (or something like that).
Thank you for your detailed explanations.
