Google find my device, deactivate notification sound?

We use this app for each other.

While everything is ok with the location of my Huawei P20 Pro - i.e. The location attempt was displayed - and this information comes as intended without the (my) located mobile phone ringing immediately with the notification! (Of course, I can also - by clicking the doorbell separately - trigger a ringtone, but thankfully it doesn't ring automatically with the notification!)

Unfortunately, I just can't do that when the Huawei P smart Pro is located, because unfortunately the notification (the location attempt was) generally comes with a ringtone! It shouldn't be like that (ringtone should not come automatically with notification, but only be triggered when the ringtone is triggered separately).

I can find the difference in setting or wherever not adapting this. The app shouldn't be deactivated.

Who knows about this and can help?

You will not find these settings in the settings of an app itself, but in the app info of this app (i.e. Via the Android settings in the apps area (possibly called "Apps and notifications"), as the list of all apps can be displayed and search for the app in question - then you are in the "app info" for this app.

The notification you mean comes from the 'app' "Google Play Services".
In their app info then of course select the subsection "Notifications" and then switch to the notification category "Find My Device" - there you will find all possible settings for these notifications in particular!

Incidentally, it is quicker if you switch directly from such a notification: a long click on such a notification and then click the gear symbol (which appears in the notification area) (depending on the manufacturer, this may look different or with text such as. "further settings" or something like that should be labeled).
This takes you directly to the "Notifications" sub-area of the app info of this app, but not yet directly to the correct notification category - however, the display may already be scrolled so that this notification category can already be seen on the display and it also flashes 2 or 3 times briefly, so that you can see which notification category this notification belongs to, but you have to click on it yourself if you want to go in there.

In addition, you can easily find out which app a notification is coming from and of course which notification category it belongs to, because after a long click on the notification, among other things, In addition to the possibility to switch your status between "Important" and "Other" as a heading on the top left and below in the middle the app name and the notification category are displayed.

It worked wonderfully, I would not have come across * Google Play Services *. Now I know everything with Google… First look there:-) Thank you again.

Perfect, I'm happy! 👍

I probably wouldn't have guessed that this notification came from the Google Play Services app, but as I already mentioned in the last paragraph you can easily find out with a long click which app a certain notification is coming from (and regardless of the notification category under which it is running) - you don't even have to guess (and it would also be more effort). 😉

That was also the way I found out! 🙂
