For several months now, I have been discovering 1-3 pictures in my photo gallery every morning, which appear there ONLY AT NIGHT AND WHEN I SLEEP 😳
Last night there were easily 20 gifs from Whatsapp - yesterday I sent one again for a very long time and then immediately afterwards. The time of the pictures that appeared at night is dated back to the time at which I selected the gif via Whatsapp - same happens with pictures for advertisements from e.g. Play.
In the info on the pictures there are individual apps which then probably generate some pictures in my gallery when my mobile phone is idle.
Not only is it creepy, but also really annoying! Can someone please tell me why it is and how I can turn it off?
Do you mean google photos? Then it would be normal
Do a virus scan. If it doesn't show you anything, deactivate all apps in the settings, the permissions to send messages or take photos
In the WhatsApp settings you can turn off saving in the gallery.
I don't mean the photos I get sent, but random advertising images from apps.

Then just switch it off in the corresponding app!
No, just completely untrue pictures from apps - mostly advertising banners from games or something.
