I have the Huawei P20 for a few days and was horrified to find that the battery consumption is very high. After I lowered the screen resolution and activated the (normal) power saving mode and the problem still existed, I downloaded a battery tracking app.
My phone loses an average of 9% per hour, even though I'm not on the phone all the time. Usually I came out with my P9 Lite (when it was new) for a day. My new P20, however, must be loaded 1x a day…
Is that normal?
I think you probably already have Bluetooth, GPS, Data Sync, Mobile Data etc. Exhibited.
Look also in the settings, what exactly consumes as much battery. Often apps running in the background still eat a lot of energy.
Could also be on the Wi-Fi. Try turning that off and using only mobile data. And later remove the WLAN connection completely and add it again.
Hope that helps. Yesterday I put my phone completely new and paid attention to such and many other things. Resolution of course synonymous down.
And if it's really easy on the hardware, you should take your guarantee. (Or change the battery.)
Check which apps are running in the background:
At least for my android (no Huawei) the home button (bottom center) for about 2 seconds. Normally, all active or running apps appear in the background.
Whereby some apps (for example Whatsapp) are very consumption-intensive at the expense of the accumulator.
Disable all apps that are not needed or currently not desired by clicking on the cross in the upper right corner of the respective app.
As a precaution, additionally stop the self-installed apps via the Application Manager (Settings = gear icon> General> Application Manager).
Which transmission activities (WLAN, mobile data, GPS, etc.) are permanently running, e.g. Because of Whatsapp and other messengers in the background with?
Each sending activity gnaws at the battery capacity. For normal calls (via GSM mobile phone network) no Internet connection is required.
Battery capacity of the Huawei P20: With approx. 3400 mAh in terms of display size 5.8 inches, at least good average, which, however, no explanation for a good 9% battery capacity loss per hour without much activity would be.
Is calculated according to the problem that the battery after 6 hrs approx. 54% of its capacity / charge loses… That's too much for normal use.
Are there possibly loose contacts (for example cable breakage of the charger, bad connection between mobile phone and charger? The latter can be caused by a defective charging socket of the mobile phone.) As a result, the battery would not fully charge.
Unfortunately in the question not said how old the Huawei or the battery are. Batteries wipe off over time. What a normal process is.
If the battery is already "older" (about 2 years) reaching the erosion limit would be no surprise. The battery needs to be replaced.
DISTINGUISHED: the older the battery, the faster it is empty despite normal use.
, Is the battery still relatively new (about 2-6 months) and is empty WITHOUT much active apps in the background or a lot of sending activities quickly = Obvious battery defect. The battery needs to be replaced.
Hopefully the answer will help for now.
Thank you! I have bought the phone a few days ago, so I try to use the phone tomorrow not at all and then watch how much battery is consumed.
First of all make in the dropdown menu all the functions that you do not need at the moment, as the Brandenburg has already said.
What also hlft is under "Phone Manager" just go to "Optimize", so it will run smoother because it closes apps in the background and empties the cache, and turns off under "battery performance optimization" all superfluous functions, and it also scans your phone for viruses.
Just do it all the time, maybe it will help!
