I dropped my Huawei P20 Lite in the water yesterday and put it in rice overnight. Today I loaded it up and the recovery screen appeared. I then chose the 'Reboot' option. The phone rebooted, and then got stuck on the home screen. The screen has background, date and time, but I can't open the phone.
I initially thought it would stay that way for a few minutes until the phone recovered everything, but after 30 minutes nothing had changed, so I restarted it. Now it is stuck on the home screen again, for about 10 minutes.
I can only restart the phone, I can't turn it off or anything. Is it just a matter of time before it works again or do I have to do something else?
Does the touch screen work? If so, I would connect the device to the computer and examine it there. The best thing would be to get help from a specialist. They always know best and it is quicker than waiting 2 months for good answers here 😉
Hi! Many thanks for the answer! I just don't know if the touchscreen works because there are no options to press anything anyway. I have connected the phone to the computer but it does not appear. It loads, but I can't access it on the computer. And a good tip, but it may be that it is not serious, so I would rather wait for a few more tips before going to a specialist. XD
Packing the cell phone in rice is absolutely useless.
You should let it dry normally at room temperature for at least 36 hours.
Overnight is not enough!
The cell phone is already dry now, and it comes on again, but the problem now is that it is stuck on the start screen. Maybe an idea how to fix it?
