Bluetooth 4.2 headphones with Bluetooth 4.1 Smartphone compatible?

I wanted to buy wireless in ear headphones, to be exact the jbl free x. When those stand in the description that here (see picture). Then I checked it out and found out that my phone (Huawei p9 Lite) has Bluetooth 4.1. Now my question would be if that would work at all.

Normally, newer versions are backwards compatible, so that should not be a problem.
