I have had a problem with my Youtube app for some time. I use the Huawei P20 Pro. So if I want to change the quality of the video, from the default 480p to e.g. 1080p so this is FIRST TIME possible. So now 1080p is selected, but the quality in the video changes zero. It doesn't matter whether I turn the quality up or down. In the browser version of Youtube everything works without any problems.
Does anyone have the same problem and can I possibly help?
It's best to reinstall the app, if that's not the problem, your internet may not be able to handle 1080p. Try YouTube in your browser ^^
Unfortunately, I can't uninstall the app because it was preinstalled. However, our internet is completely sufficient, as I can easily stream 4K films and videos on our window. Everything works normally in the browser and everything works normally in the app for my parents and my brother. Unfortunately, everything in the browser is a bit slower and not as easy to use as in the app. Everything is normal on my PC.
Okay, then go to Settings on your device and then go to Apps. Then you search for YouTube and delete all data. Then you can open youtube, log in and then everything should work ^^
