Telekom WLAN problems?

I received a new router from Telekom a few months ago because I changed my contract. Since I have the router (Speedport i3 W925v, if I'm not mistaken), I have had massive Wi-Fi problems on my smartphone (Huawei p smart 2019).

When I sit down on my couch next to the router, the Wi-Fi knocks me out and I either have to restart the router, remove the network and re-enter the password (after waiting 5 minutes). My smartphone always says that no connection is possible.

I also have massive problems with my Sonos system, songs often stop or jump back to the beginning.

Most of the time, the WLAN also throws me out in the evening when I haven't actively used my smartphone for 2-3 hours because I was at the PC. Then I have to get one or two floors closer to the router and I'm automatically reconnected to the Wi-Fi. I've already tried a lot, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

Do any of you guys have a solution here?

Call customer service and ask, put pressure on them and if they don't do anything, then change the contract or the provider.

Can't recommend anyone in Germany… All of them are just bad in my opinion.
I'm with Unitymedia / Vodafone, we got a new router from Vodafone, since the end of the summer holidays only packet loss…

Sometimes the internet even goes down.

My tip: get another router.

Or an access point that you connect to the speed port by cable.

The speed ports have a problem with seamless roaming.

Means: if both networks are active (2.4 and 5 GHz) the SSIDs must have a different name. If both are the same there are problems and the end devices keep logging out.

That can of course fix your problem.

The SSIDs have the same name. It doesn't matter what name they have, right?

For the sake of simplicity, hang a 5 after it in the 5-way network

My first recommendation is that from @ggerd: Please name the 2.4 Ghz and the 5 Ghz WLAN differently. The Sonos speakers always transmit at 2.4 GHz. It is therefore best to use the 5 Ghz Wi-Fi with your smartphone. A fixed WLAN channel for the two frequencies is also useful. You can see in the router which ones are used a lot on site and then just take a quiet one.

The Sonos can also open their own WLAN if one of the devices is connected via LAN cable. This can of course also relieve the radio situation on site.

I have now hung a 5 behind it on the 5 network. Now there are two networks, one for 2.4 and one for 5 GHz, right?

Thank you.

Now it works, thanks.
