I recently upgraded the Huawei p 20 lite and set everything up. So far so good, only I can't find a way to change the app or in the settings of the app's language. Menu,
Petrol stations, etc. Search is initially German, but comes later search here, the settings and everything during the navigation is in English.
speech output is in german, google account is also german.

Do you have the language of your mobile phone in English? Many apps use this language as an app language.
Moin exactly the problem I had too. I looked for Google Maps again in the Playstore, I'm uninstalling and then reinstalling and lo and behold, the German language was there.
