I forgot my pattern and wanted to know what to do next. I still have a fingerprint and facial recognition, but once the phone is completely off, I need the pattern again.
Reset would not be so nice.
If it was off and the pattern is requested at power up, there's usually a forgotten option somewhere or it will appear for a certain number of failed attempts. You then have to enter your Google Account data (username and password) and that has changed. Anyway, it was the same with me as it happened to me, but that was a while ago, so no guarantee.
I also had a similar problem. With my Mate 10 lite I forgot the pin. Hacking is (almost) impossible. Take the device to the store where you bought it and leave that reset.
