Can messages from Facebook Messenger simply disappear without a trace even though they are displayed in the Huawei Android notifications?

A message seems to have disappeared from Facebook Messenger. It could still be read in the notifications on my Android phone, but when I clicked the notification, I went straight to the chat overview in Messenger. Is it possible that a message simply disappears? Or that the sender completely deletes them, so that the entire chat has disappeared? Can you actually send messenger messages directly to other apps so that they disappear from the messenger? Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to who wrote me the message. If you can somehow find out, you could contact the sender. It seemed to be important somehow, the broadcaster wrote something about it not feeling well or something, worried I lost the message and couldn't find anything in the activity log? Nor was it a self-destructive message that needs to be confirmed beforehand. Or can you accidentally delete messages via the Android notifications? Is there any other way of restoring a deleted message?

I've had that problem too. The message ended up in your message requests.

Either the person blocked you or that's a Facebook bug.
