Is the Huawei Mate 20 Pro a significant upgrade from the P9?

I'm interested in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and currently have the P9.

Is it worth it to buy the Mate 20 Pro or notice no particular difference? Especially important to me would be the battery life and the camera (main and selfie). The numbers speak for an improvement, but does anyone have practical experience with the Mate 20 Pro?
