I bought the mate 20 pro 2 days ago at a very cheap price (320 euro) as a used - like new. The cell phone arrived and looked totally new at first. Just somehow I became increasingly dissatisfied with the display over time. I previously owned a Samsung s8. Personally, I think the colors look a bit strange, sometimes a little greenish or something similar. Until then I thought to myself that it could be a subjective assessment since I'm used to Samsung OLED displays. But now I noticed the following last night: When the display is completely dark, incredibly ugly streaks form when scrolling, especially if you take something black and let it fly white. At first I thought it was because of the eye-friendly mode, but 1. With my s8 with a blue filter, it was not nearly as bad and 2. Is it only a little bit better without the blue filter.
Would you say the display is faked? I'm very irritated because this display is denounced as an award-winning one and is named as an "Apple competitor". To me, this mobile phone looks more like a classic China Bomber with 0.0 quality (only the display, camera and battery are great.)
You can find the video attached on which you can even see it quite well. For the experiment, I simply took the defense lawyer André Miegel because he has a good picture online, on which you can see it very nicely.
This is not a display but a software error if you mean the dark stripes that run through the picture, send the thing back, the colors also look washed out, something is wrong with the thing, just not judged more precisely on the basis of the video.
That's Oled, the pixels take a little while to reach the color (from off to on)
Blue subpixels react more slowly to a color change than red and green, which is why this color is created.
The effect is actually only significant at very low brightness
