As a main cell phone, I have a Huawei P20 Pro with an OLED display. Now I got a second cell phone for various reasons and decided on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. The cell phone has an IPS LCD display. I would only be interested in whether the risk of the Redmi Note 8 is higher that the display burns in. Or is the risk higher with an OLED display? I would only be interested. Also, if my display burns in, can I simply replace the display and everything will be fine? Or is there something broken inside?
If the display burned in what has never happened to me, this can be replaced
I do not know which burn-in does faster, as I said, has never happened to me
It can happen that after changing to another image a weak residual fragment of the image is temporarily visible. This phenomenon is also known as "burn-in", "shadows" or "ghosting".
Burn-in is only possible with OLED, not with IPS. Burning in is basically nothing other than that certain areas of the display age faster and then can no longer shine as brightly as surrounding areas. No impact on electronics…
Nothing can burn in with the LCD display, but with the Oled display,

Thanks for the answer. I only ask because I once had a tablet (Acer Iconia One 7 B1-770) with an IPS display, which had a burned-in display after a few months, so I'm a little scared
This can also occur briefly with LCD displays. This effect occurs with LC displays when the liquid crystal molecules, via which the brightness is regulated, can't temporarily return completely to their starting position due to the increased electrical charge, but this also disappears quite well quickly again
Thanks for the star, greeting andie
