Can you install Google Play on Huawei phones yourself if it is not there?

So I saw that a foldable display cell phone from Huawei is coming out soon. Unfortunately there's no Google Play Store there but Huawei's own store, and this leads to the fact that I unfortunately can't access my purchased apps but I have to buy the app again. And since I don't feel like buying apps again and I really want to have such a folding phone, I want to ask if you can at least install Google Play yourself. But best without rooting.

St

You can, but Google warns of it

Isn't this just a scaremongering from Google with the malware threat?

St

The app can't be downloaded from a secure source, so the warning is not unauthorized, Google does not support these apps, which means that they do not work or do not work properly

Google applications installed through sideloading do not work reliably because we do not allow these services to run on non-certified devices that could compromise security. Sideloading Google applications also poses a high risk of installing an application that has been altered or tampered with in a way that can compromise user security

Yes, but please tell me, why can I download the Google Play app from Chip or from Netzwelt? Does it mean that Malware Trojans are also hidden in the Chip.de or Netzwelt website? And how the hell is Maleware supposed to do in Android, if Android is based on Linux, which leads to much higher security than Windows, and second, Android is not rooted, which is also impossible to damage the system. So the virus is anyway 5% of the probability, and 95% of the probability nothing will happen. The whole thing is just a scare trick so that people don't touch it. That is the only one.

St

If only it were all that easy!

I believe that your security would suffer as explained by andie61 with the links, so I would like to recommend the AppStore Aptoide to you. It is the largest provider of apps on Android, behind Google Play. The apps are checked, so it is assumed that the security is approximately the same as with GooglePlay.

But everyone can upload apps and all apps are free. ALSO Really CHARGED! TO GET THIS IS PUNISHABLE.

I've been using it for a few years because I don't have a Google account. You have to do without one or the other app and sometimes the update comes a few days late, but overall very satisfactory, I hope I could help you, for more information about Aptoide you can google it (by the way, it is downloaded from their website )

El

You don't know how easy it is to manipulate an app, do you?

co

Yes, but since when would Chip.de or Netzwelt send a Trojan?

El

Of course they don't have Trojans in there, I think now, but if you want to take your apps + updates from chip, please! I also don't know if they have their apps from the manufacturers, if so, nothing can happen, if not, no app is safe

El

Update: With the apps that I have found so far, I was only redirected to other websites, which sometimes did not seem so safe to me

St

Google Playstore itself is not available as an APK from Google itself, so it can only come from non-secure sources, and Google is now preventing the use of Google Apps on devices that are no longer certified, such as those from Huawei

There also happens to be an app where you can copy the installed apps as an APK file. Example is with FX Explorer. And I think the chip did that too. For example, first downloaded in your own Nexus Handy FX Explorer and the installed Google exported as an APK file and then uploaded later.

Weighing that with the security problem is more a matter of fear. Just because the probability is only around 5% and 95% nothing will happen, the world is going under.

El

Which app can you download directly from Chip? I'm redirected to a different provider for each apk

co

Yes APK Mirror. Should also be a safe site because I have often downloaded from APK Mirror and my cell phone still runs like on the first day.

El

Just because your cell phone is running does not mean that the site or the APKs are secure! APKMirror is a provider like Aptoide or Uptodown App Store. APKMirror doesn't seem to do any security tests either, just signature tests.

Incidentally, this has absolutely nothing to do with chip. I recommend you Aptoide, I have never had any problems, download all my apps from there and there's signature and security test.

St

All of this is of no use to you if Google blocks the use of the apps.

But why did a Youtuber manage to install Amazon Fire Tablet Google Play?

St

You asked a question, you got 2 answers, no matter what we both replied to you, you know better and come up with nonsensical counter-questions. I really don't feel like it anymore, you have everything we have to say from us and corresponding links, for me this is over!
