Huawei and Google services?

I bought my Dad a Honor A8 today. I have only now realized that this belongs to Huawei. Actually, I did not want to buy Huawei anymore, even though I was always happy with Huawei. My dad wants to use apps like Google Maps etc. In the future. Only I'm scared when I give it to him on his birthday (in August), that none of these apps work anymore. If I still install the smartphone this month, will it still have access to those services?

The ban has no effect on already purchased and active devices. Except that just no Android system updates come more, which are in the cheap providers but hardly guaranteed. Security updates will be available and Google services can continue to be used as normal.

Basically it does not matter because there's still the 3 month grace period. It should be enough in August. But you can do it now if it gets too tight for you.
