My cell phone had a bath in the toilet this morning, but it was fished out and dried straight away. It could be switched on and operated until the display suddenly went black. I have let it dry for almost 9 hours now, so now I have to press the on / off button for a long time until it vibrates when starting. The start screen flickers briefly, then the display is black again.
What do you think, what is the probability that it will work again after drying / how long does it have to dry? Can a repair service save anything?
The cell phone is a Huawei Honor 6x, 1 1/2 years old.
Since you have had your cell phone for 1.5 years, I recommend buying a new one. A repair would be too expensive. If you are lucky, the water will disappear without leaving any permanent damage.
It was not so smart to turn on the cell phone because water and electricity are not compatible. But I would still put the phone in rice because rice sucks the moisture out of the phone.
Yes your cell phone is probably over.
The mistake everyone always makes is to switch on the cell phone directly.
It would have been correct to let it dry for ~ 36 hours and only then try to switch it on.
