Which mesh devices do you use?

I have the Speedport Smart 3 in the basement on the patch panel. But I'm not sure whether I'll get the Telekom Mesh Wi-Fi or use third-party products. The base of it is then connected to a network socket that leads down to the router in the basement. I currently have the TP Link Deco M4, it works well so far, but I don't like the app for config. Confusing and few options with port forwarding, DNS and general roaming of the devices when you move around the house. Usually takes a minute until the next device is recognized

Do you have any alternatives? Have seen the Huawei AX, is it suitable?

Since I use a Fritzbox exclusively AVM.

A small digression - only applies to a limited extent here: MESH does not have a manufacturer-independent standard.
If you use "telecom scrap" you have to make sure to buy suitable repeaters & Co. From them.
"Suitable" insofar as the Telekom has different manufacturers of their routers and MESH is just manufacturer-specific.

Concrete:
The basement is pretty much the worst location for a radio transmitter (router / MESH master).
But since you use the AC1200 Deco as WLAN, I would somehow try to bring a LAN cable to the ground floor or first floor and place the MESH master there. That brings a significantly better radio coverage.

You should of course switch off the WLAN network of the speed port.

Features like "DNS", "Port Forwarding" etc. Usf. Are not the tasks of a MESH system. You configure this in the router - if possible (Internet provider routers are often functionally restricted!)

I have the speed port on the patch panel, there are network sockets on all floors. Doesn't have to be a Telekom Mesh, but rather those with the long range, WPA3, Wi-Fi 6 and and and have. You can just plug it into the network socket and you're done

Doesn't have to be a Telekom Mesh

Logical: You have a TL-Link MESH system. That is its own wireless network. Therefore you should also switch off the WLAN function of the speed port!

Read my answer.
Otherwise you don't seem to have any basic know-how regarding radio technology - you should acquire:

WPA3, Wi-Fi 6

Something like that is clarified before the purchase - not afterwards.

If you want to convert, then you have to take money into your hand:

The latest generation of AVM products can do all of this:

I was thinking of something like that:

My Speedport WLAN is switched off. I do not understand what you are asking of me. My post is based on product recommendations that I would like to hear because I'm dissatisfied with TP Link. If you use AVM, that's it. No explanation on compatibility, frequencies, etc.
