I would like to buy a new cell phone soon and I'm currently a Huawei user and would actually like to stay that way. I bought my current cell phone before this whole Huawei thing
I understand this license dispute there was / does not exist at all. Could someone explain this to me, what effects it will have on me now when I buy a new Huawei? Do I still have Google or what are the options for this license withdrawal? Or is it for me as a user like my previous cell phone?
It depends on what you want to buy for yourself, the P40 no longer has Google services on it, just like the Mate 30 and the Pro model, but they still have the Android operating system.
Google now also blocks the Playstore if it has been downloaded to the mobile phone as an APK, since all Google services that came with the models mentioned, all models before that, the Google services can continue to be used without restriction

Thank you.
Happy, greetings to you
Briefly summarized: The software is completely free from Google. The Android is based on the open source version of Android.
For some, probably rather fewer, it may be very good that an Android device is available ex works without Google. However, there are some limitations in practice.
The two biggest factors that build on other issues are the lack of the Play Store and the lack of Google Play Services.
Since the Play Store is missing, you have to get the apps from other sources. Huawei offers the AppGallery or the AppSearch for this. There are also other app stores that you can use. Apps can also be installed manually via the Apk.
The lack of Google Play Services has a bigger impact. As an alternative, Huawei uses its HMS, Huawei Mobile Services. You can't completely replace the services from.
The services are required by apps, among other things. This also includes apps that are not from Google. Some Google Apps can therefore only be used to a limited extent or not at all on a Huawei device without Google. For example, Google Maps or Google Pay are not compatible. In other apps, you can't log in with your Google account. The browser variant is often a detour.
There should be ways to install the Play Store later. I don't know how well that works. The Play Store is then not certified and has a few minor restrictions.
The usage will not be as before. This only applies to devices without Google services such as the P40 (Lite / Pro (Plus)), Mate 30 Pro.
For devices with Google services, use is as usual.
