Can I reset the phone?

My cell phone broke yesterday, so my friend gave me his old cell phone (Huawei P20 Pro) as a present. I've set everything up so far, only it seems that he is still logged in with his Huawei ID. I tried to remove it somehow, but it didn't work. The mobile phone repeatedly requests its ID.

If I reset the phone, won't the Huawei ID on his new phone also be deleted? Or just on the old cell phone? I don't want to end up being to blame for resetting his entire account.

I hope somehow they could understand my problem.

I have no experience with Huawei, but the memory is emptied when resetting, the account with Huawei should have existed. But why don't you enter your own Huawei ID when the phone asks for 'its' ID?
