Reset Huawei Honor 8?

I found my old Honor 8 and wanted to reset it. So I held down Power Button and Volume (+), then Data / Factory reset or what that was called and then reboot system now. Did a great job, then had to readjust the language, fingerprint and everything and then came that I should log in with the Google account, which I have previously used with this phone. So it was not all set back. (Had used a tutorial on YouTube)

This is a problem, as I was allowed to use my uncle's Google account and I do not have an email address or password because he died. Does anyone know how I can really reset this phone completely?

I'm happy about every answer

You must first delete the Google Account otherwise the theft lock will be activated

Ab

I think you did not really do that wrong.

The phone may say that you should use the old Google Account, but you do not have to. You can also simply log in with your own account or create your own account.

Cl

I have, only then it says that I should take the old 😅

Cl

Yes, how should I do that? I have to sign up to delete it and just wanted to reset it because I forgot my PIN.

Ab

Ah now I understand. So you did not remove the Google Account before the Factory Reset, which enabled the theft deterrent. Can you delete the Google Account in Preferences? Look here:

Te

You have to delete the account first. Now you have to enter your old account because otherwise you will not get into the device

Cl

Do not even get in the phone without the Google Account.

Ab

At least you have to click on Forgot password… That's just the purpose of the theft deterrent. Maybe you remember the password again. Always write everything down in the future. I think even the Google support can't do anything against it.

Cl

That was the Google account of my uncle who died

Cl

Yes, that was not my account

Ab

Since you have the Factory Reset as far as I know just delete the account, then it would work now… Whether there's still a way I do not know.

I would contact Google Support and tell you about your problem.

Cl

If I had not, because I forgot, as I said, my PIN and only because of that reset, I would not have gotten into the phone and even if, to delete I would have to enter the password.

Ab

Hmm… So the pin of the sim card is not necessary to enter. If you mean the normal pin this is of course a problem.

Maybe there's a less legal way to re-play Android, but I do not know about that.
