Google Chrome (accidentally) uninstalled?

I updated the apps on my Huawei P30 lite last night. Just a little later, the Google Chrome icon suddenly disappeared. I did not uninstall the app. Then I went to the app store and tried to open the app directly from there. I tapped "Open", but still nothing happened. In the settings under "Apps" it was indicated that the browser is still installed. In the Google search, however, Google tells me that no app was found with which any link could be opened.

I tried stopping the app, reinstalling it, and installing an older version, but none of those things worked! And I actually want to continue using Chrome. The only last option I know would be to reset the application to the factory settings, but if I can do otherwise, I'll be happy too!

Now I hope for your help. If you could help me in any way, that would be great!

Me too. Only that it simply aborts the installation.

Also a P30? And since when has that been the case with you? Most importantly, did you find a solution?

Ca

I haven't found a solution. This is due to chrome and I have an s8. I use opera now and find it much better. Sorry that I can't help you except to say that you could reset your cell phone to factory settings. Personally, I just wouldn't do it for chrome as there are much better browsers out there too

Did you deactivate the app? I'm not very familiar with Huawei, but if that's still Android, then you can go to the settings under Apps and have a look. It may show there that the app is disabled. Then it is still installed, but you can no longer see an app icon and you can't open any on the left.

Au

Try to install the APK by hand over it:-) To do this, "third-party apps" from unknown sources must be allowed in the settings:-)

Yes, thanks for the answer!

Thanks for the tip!

I first deactivated the app and then reactivated it when it stopped working. I have just tried again with deactivating and activating, but it doesn't work that way either. And yes, the P30 is still an Android device, the P40 is no longer.

I download all apps from an APK app store anyway. The second link works perfectly until the installation where it says:

Google Chrome

App was not installed.

I downloaded and installed the app again in the app store. Worked! How and why I don't know. It is important that the icon is back.
