Can a Huawei p20 and a Samsung Galaxy watch active be used normally with Huawei? So with the app like with a Samsung mobile phone?

That should work because the smartwatch is based on wear os from google. So install the wear os app on the p20 and then connect the watch to it via bluetooth.
