I have the Huawei p30 pro, but I'm not satisfied with the video mode.
When I switch from photo to video, the mobile phone automatically zooms in a bit, as if the focal length was much smaller. When I switch the video mode to wide angle, I have about the picture that I have with the photo function in the normal state. Is that normal?
It's the same with my Samsung. However, only if you have activated the additional stabilization. Another part of the sensor is used for stabilization. That's the only way I can explain it to myself.
And if you just zoom out, you get into the normal view…
Then the picture is somehow distorted. Like a wide angle. I'm looking for stabilization, it can be.
That is normal.
Has either to do with electronic stabilization, which can't be switched off. Or maybe it is cropped in because the sensor in the P30 Pro for a cell phone is relatively large (1 / 1.7 inches) and otherwise too much processor power would be required to read it out in 4K or 120fps.
