According to Huawei Health, I ran more than 22km yesterday and burned almost 700kcal as a result. Aren't they more kcal?

I read that walking for 1 hour can burn 400 kcal. If I ran 4 hours at a good pace, shouldn't it be more than 700kcal?

Be

I have 300 cal alone after jogging from a smaller distance.

sw

Wv km means smaller distance?

Be

3 or 4?
Sure, I use more calories when jogging, but it can't be that you only consumed 700 cal at 22 km. How many steps was that? Maybe you had GPS on and the route was right but the steps weren't all counted?

sw

More than 30k steps

Be

So 700 cal seems to me very, very little for it. Something doesn't fit in my eyes. But wait a few other answers from other people

A proven rule of thumb for runs on a flat course says:

energy consumed in kcal = distance traveled in km * weight in kg

If you are not a super lightweight, the consumption is above the 700 kcal mentioned.

That is the truth?

do

Lol, I went 10km, jogged 2km and burned between 600 and 700cal 🤷♂️ according to huawei health 😄

Ro

It is true, but it is a rule of thumb and not "of the truth": P

Also depends on the speed; Another rule of thumb is that jogging half an hour quickly (i.e. Noticeably more than 50% of your speed) consumes as much as jogging slowly for an hour:

That is the truth?

It is an easy way to estimate the level of consumption. Only an analysis in the laboratory provides exact values.

sw

Do you mean 50 percent of my maximum speed

Ro

Yes, certainly not that of Haile Gebreselassie.

According to the article I linked, it would make more sense to measure that by heart rate. With 60-75% of your maximum attainable frequency an hour should be optimal. How to calculate the maximum is also in the link:

I see they also linked training plans at the bottom if you are interested.
