I have had my Huawei Mate 20 Pro for about 1 1/2 years now. The FaceScan always worked great until I replaced my screen a few months ago. Since then my face has not been recognized.
So I deleted my saved face and tried to create a new one. Strangely, that doesn't work. Every time I place my face in the frame as prescribed (see picture) nothing happens. No new instructions etc. The software is up to date.
Now to my questions: Does anyone know why? Could it be that something went wrong with the repair of my screen and the FaceScan is no longer working because of this? The employee who replaced the display said I should save my data and reset my cell phone. Do you think that will help?
Times tried to deactivate the face scan and reactivate it after a restart.
You should have a fingerprint to unlock it.
I would guess that the front camera does not work. Either there was none on the new screen and it should have been installed from the old one, or it is not properly connected / defective… Ever started the camera and tried selfie? If there's no picture (I would guess) … I don't know whether this could be a software problem that resolves on reset…
The front camera works perfectly. Like everything before. The FaceScan somehow still doesn't work… But didn't the Mate 20 Pro somehow incorporate an extra sensor that is responsible for facial recognition?
I don't know, but usually all of this is done with the front camera… At least other cell phones. Somehow a picture of the face has to be made to compare the features. And as far as I can see there's only one camera installed.
If the front camera works for selfies, FaceScan should also work (in my opinion) … Then it could possibly be a software problem and a reset could be the solution.
