App lock for Huawei problem?

I have a Huawei Honor 5X.
Today while rummaging around I discovered the app lock - immediately clicked to activate it, passowert forgive and then opened Whatsapp enthusiastically.
But there was nothing. I came in quite normally in every app.
Did I forget something?
I was no longer shown after password assignment.
