Windows 10 photos does not recognize my .cr2 files, the Canon EOS 6D Mark 2?

As we mentioned in the title, the preinstalled "Photos" app on my Huawei Matebook X does not recognize the RAW photos of my Canon EOS 6D Mark 2. Nevertheless, the .cr2 files of my 700D and 80D are opened properly. As a result, the image preview can't be opened, which can be very tiring when organizing. But I vehemently refuse to use applications like "Bridge" or anything like that because I got used to the pre-installed file management system very well. Does anyone have the same problem or even knows a solution to reopen the images?

My CR2 files can't read Windows either. Also some cloud services can't open any RAWs. You have to live with it, if you take RAW photos. You have to develop the pictures anyway with another program, then you can organize the photos with them.

What amazes me is that the .cr2 files of my 700D and the 80D are recognized by the 6D Mark 2 just not and this "I have to live with it" is just my question. Do I really have to or is there a good alternative that is not called Bridge?

I use only Lightroom and there I can't sort.

Ce

So with the newer cameras, it is definitely not.

Why can't you sort in LR?

Have you already searched on the Canon website, if there's a new RAW codec? (that's what Pentax says) Otherwise IrfanView is always very up to date.

Because I have only my portfolio in my Adobe Cloud and therefore delete everything else but leave it on my hard drive and with Lightroom I can't sort on the hard drive.

RAW is not the same as RAW, so Adobe is constantly updating its Lightroom and Camera RAW applications to add new models.
Your camera is simply not supported because it is too new and only helps to update the app.

You can also download the free Adobe DNG Converter from the Adobe website. This converts the Canon RAWs in the more standardized DNG-RAW format, this should be open without problems.
