He used to have an iPhone, and since the end of 19 he has had a Huawei, and was happy with it. Then a replacement should be found. Now it's a Huawei again but… Without google😢
Many people don't mind and I thought that wouldn't be a problem. The fact is, nothing works anymore.

Corona App- does not work

That's really a list. And meanwhile my husband, who is not a technology freak now, is frustrated. The hardware is actually quite good, but what's the point if the bank's app doesn't work?
Now the consideration is to get another one.

It should be 128 GB if possible, or at least 64
Photos and videos should be good

I recommend the Samsung Galaxy A51, the price / performance is very good, the phone has a good camera, 128GB storage space, a good battery and of course has Google. I found the phone for 265 euro on Amazon.

If you don't want to spend money you can try the Amazon App Store on the Huawei, which should be quite good. There's also an app called Petal Search, which is basically a search engine for apps, so you can sometimes trick the system a bit
Otherwise, Xiaomi is also a good alternative.
Thanks, that sounds really helpful. I got involved with Petal Search today after contacting Huawei. We could at least get the email app up and running again. But everything else that is important to my husband is only available as a link as an app. Then that's just not so nice. And bank doesn't work at all. That is a huge step backwards.
I'll have a look at the Samsung with him tomorrow. The name sounds better to him than Xiaomi. Then he looked at me, very confused 🙈 the key data sound great. He probably doesn't need more.

Xiaomi is always the better alternative. The points you have listed can cope with cheaper devices equally if not better.
The best devices for less than 300 euro would be the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC such as Mi 10T Lite.
Strong performance, large battery and fast charging, stereo speakers, good camera and 120hz refresh rate.
Some don't feel safe with Xiaomi, I mentioned that Xiaomi is a good alternative, and everyone has chosen Xiaomi beforehand.
Glad to hear, if you want to stay with Huawei you can also access the Nova 5t it is comparable to the A51 and also has Google is a little cheaper (209 euro)

Better take a more recent version of the 10 series because of the longer updates.
I personally also use a Xiaomi Mi 9T. Always had a Samsung before and thought nothing like Samsung. They're not bad either, but the prices. But a Xiaomi is simply better from the overall package.
