Am I the only one where Safe Mode doesn't work?

I thought that since I'm 14 now, I can finally use youtube too, but famaly link says no. I had tried the trick with safe mode many times, but it doesn't seem to be available on the Huawei y6. My explicit question is whether I'm the only one who feels this way, and whether there's another method than the one with the on / off button to get into safe mode?!

No, only with the permission of my parents or via the Huawei appgalery

And from the browser?

I can download the files BUT not open them once they are on my phone. So I can't access the downloaded files, unless I delete them I can't do anything.
