As described above, I would like a parent folder where I have multiple folders. As an example: Have on the PC folder "walks" and subfolders of the various days. If I now copy this to my P20 Lite, the individual folders are all again in the gallery and not in the parent. Is there a trick or is it not working?

You might be able to view the images through Google Drive instead of the gallery. So save in Drive and then access it from your phone. There's also an app for Drive. Since you can then in any case also show multiple folder levels and access it from the PC on it. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how it works directly through the gallery, but I do not go to my folders with subfolders, at least there's only one folder level for me.
