For a few days I have had the problem that a few apps on my Huawei P20 close automatically after opening or they restart during certain processes.
E.g.:
Gmail closes again immediately after opening
ASOS closes again immediately after opening
If I want to look at my orders at Lieferando, the app restarts automatically, no matter how often I do it.
Other apps that I have tried, however, work perfectly (e.g. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram).
The problem is annoying because, for example, I can no longer look at my emails. The current software version of my P20 is 10.0.0.185 (should be the latest according to Handyinfo). Reboots didn't help.
If you have any suggestions how I could fix it, I would be very grateful!
PS.: I think resetting the system to factory settings is only expedient if all other solutions have failed beforehand (apart from the fact that the problem could still occur after a reset).
Does your Huawei still have Google or not?
If so, search for Google web view in the Playstore to see if it has an update or not
Go to your apps in the Playstore and update the System Web View, with Android 9 it is Google Chrome that needs to be updated.
The P20 still has Google services, from the P40 series they no longer have Google services.
This is a google problem. That should actually work again.
If not, search for the "WebView" app (which is not visible depending on the Android version) and deactivate or delete the data and cache.
You don't really need it, it's a kind of chrome light.
If you can't find it, go to the store and look for "WebView" or "Android WebView".
Either it is "deactivated" or there's an update there. You install that.
If it is deactivated, your problem is different.
I had the same thing with the crashes, but runs again.
Thanks for Your answer!
I just found the app, but can't update it (not because it's already up to date, but because it takes forever and won't finish).
Does it hurt if I cancel and press uninstall instead?
