I've had a new cell phone for 5 days (Redmi Note 8 Pro). Before that, I had the Huawei P8 lite 2017.
The Wi-Fi in my room has never been good, but I got along relatively well with my old cell phone. When I got the new cell phone, nothing worked at all. Everything felt loaded for hours and I was / am so annoyed by it. I often sit right next to the Wi-Fi box and the cell phone charges for what feels like 2 hours.
What can that be? My cell phone came with 2 bars of Wi-Fi (what do you call it haha). My new one needs so much more and still loads so long with 4 bars.
Does the problem also occur with other smartphones?
It may be that the WLAN receiver in your new cell phone is an older / worse model than in your old cell phone. You can have full reception, but the transmission rate can be slow.
Your new smartphone is equipped with a much better Wi-Fi antenna than your old smartphone.
Could you still compare the Wi-Fi radio network with other devices, are these problems still occurring?
The number of bars indicates the strength or reception of the WLAN signal and is not a measure of the available bandwidth.
Test whether the transfer rate of your smartphone is so bad when using another WLAN.
Check if the problem also occurs with other devices in your Wi-Fi network.
Sometimes it helps to manually change the Wi-Fi channel on the router if too many devices are transmitting in the same channel.
Everything works with my old cell phone. With an IPhone SE and an older Honor, everything works: /
There are no problems with other cell phones: /
Thank you very much.
Smartphone restarted?
Oh right… I could do Oops xD.
Short update: I restarted the phone the same day and then everything was perfect for the rest of the day. I could even make calls in my room without any problems. But the next day everything started again. Then I restarted it again and everything worked again. Now it is really absolutely terrible and everything is loading so incredibly long. It excites me so damn
Which router do you use? I used to use the Unitymedia Connect Box and had the same problems, it was quick after a restart.
After I upgraded to a FritzBox, everything went without problems.
