Why do cell phone cameras have such a strong noise when there's a lot of iso? I have a huawei p10 and if I take photos with 3200 iso in raw format without noise reduction you can hardly see what's on it. With a goten SLR camera at 56000 iso no such noise is visible. Why is that?
Because the sensor of a cell phone camera is much smaller than that of a DSLR, less light can be captured.
Lichmangel.
Open the aperture larger (you can see that the cell phone is empty), or expose it longer with a tripod.
With enough light, cell phones take pictures quite well.
ISO 3200, 56000, what are you photographing, your naked neighbor in the dark, with full zoom.
The sensor of a professional interchangeable lens camera has about twenty times more light-sensitive area.
The smaller the image sensor and the more (mega) pixels are packed on the surface, the stronger the noise and with increasing ISO values, the noise increases very much.
You should actually know as someone who also has a system camera, since it is one of the absolute basics. Has something to do with the sensor size and how many MP are on it…
Thanks for the award.
